12C - Case Study HW

In the lesson on Tuesday 5 April you will be writing a timed essay answering the following question:

Account for the similarities and differences in the codes and conventions used in the media products from your case study.

In your answer you should:
Provide a brief outline of your case study.
Compare how and why
media products from your case study are similar and/or different within and across media platforms.
Support your answer with reference to a range of examples from three media platforms.
Write 3-4 sides.


For homework you need to revise (and develop) your case study so that you are able to write a quality essay answering the above question.

12C Case Study HW Due 14/3/11

Using the essay plan that you designed in this weeks lesson, answer the following question. Write at least 1500 words:

"Audiences are no longer just consumers of texts, but producers too" - To what extent is this true of the media products in your case study?

Remember to reference your case study research throughout, and provide a number of specific examples across all 3 platforms for each of your texts.

12B - Film Review HW Due 14/3/11

Each student must produce 2 features/reviews on the release of your new hybrid film (rated 15, £30 million budget). You should produce at least 1 A4 page for each piece including images and text. The pieces should be speicific to a named publication such as a newspaper, lifestyle magazine or specialist film magazine.

For HW this week:

Find the 2 magazines/newspapers that you will write your feature/review for and bring them to school on 14/3/11. Make sure that the target audience of these magazines/newspapers would be interested in your film.

Write the first draft of your first feature. Remember to use an appropriate writing style for the magazine you have chosen.
