Watch the trailer for 'Kicks' carefully at least 6 times. While watching takes notes on the following:
Shot type: Long shot, medium shot, close-up, point of view shot etc
Camera angle: High angle, low angle
Camera movement: Track, pan, tilt
Mise-en-scene - all that is in the frame - this includes: colour, lighting, costume, actors and their body language, props.
Sound - Diegetic sound (Sound that seems to be part of what is occurring on screen).
Non-diegetic sound (sound that we know is not part of what is on screen, such as music and voice-over)
Editing - how are the shots placed together to create a certain effect?
Genre - what iconography is present?
Narrative - does the narrative structure follow Todorov's theory? Is it linear or non-linear?
Now, on you blog, post an analysis of the trailer for Kicks which explains the effect of all the above elements on the audience. Use as much media terminology as possible. Your analysis should be at least 600 words. Ensure that your work is posted on your blog by Thursday 4 November.
