Important: Year 12 Media students

Two important announcements this week...

Laurie Penny lecture - Tuesday 21 January
Firstly, the school is incredibly lucky to have a high profile guest speaker coming in on Tuesday lunchtime and we are making it compulsory for all A Level Media students to attend.

Laurie Penny is a journalist, feminist and prolific user of new and digital technology to challenge widely held viewpoints in the mainstream media. She will be talking in the lecture theatre at 12.20pm on Tuesday 21 January and will introduce you to two very important Year 13 topics: New and Digital Media and Feminism.

We will be taking a register of all Year 12 Media students so see you there!

GCSE Media coursework support: job opportunity
We are currently recruiting two post-16 Media students to earn a small amount of money helping our GCSE Media students with their coursework. For £5 an hour, we will be running after-school sessions on a Wednesday with post-16 students offering feedback, advice and expertise in getting GCSE coursework to target grade level.

If you're interested, send Mr Halsey a short email explaining why you'd be the right person for the job.

There will be a training session for the successful applicants and then sessions will run for most of the Spring term.

Good luck!
